Wellness Origin Spa is an organic day spa at 937 Keystone Way N in Carmel, just north of Indianapolis off Keystone Parkway. A day here is assembled from individual services: organic facials from $98, massage from $98, waxing from $17, NormaTec compression at $47 and hyperbaric oxygen sessions from $187. Call (317) 979-1234 to have them scheduled back to back.

What a day spa is, and what this one is not

A day spa is a spa you visit for a few hours rather than a resort you stay at. That is the whole definition, and it is worth stating because the word gets used to describe everything from a nail bar to a hotel wing. Wellness Origin is a day spa in the plain sense: you come in, you have one or several services, you leave the same day.

What it is not is a ritual house. There is no robe ceremony, no tea service, no quiet room built into the price. Several excellent spas within a few miles of us do that beautifully and charge accordingly. Here the money goes into the treatment rooms and the equipment, so what you buy is service time rather than atmosphere. If the ritual is the point of the day for you, you should book one of those instead, and we will say so on the phone.

The pieces you can build a day from

  • Organic facial. Nine treatments. Microdermabrasion $98, Facial Custom Blend $125, dermaplaning $125, hydrating $147, high frequency $147, radio frequency $147, enzyme peel $147, micro needling $172, exosome facial $775 or $675 for a first session.
  • Massage. Custom, Swedish, deep tissue and reflexology at $98 for 60 minutes, $144 for 90. Prenatal $108. Lymphatic drainage $130.
  • Waxing. Full face, lip and chin, eyebrow, nostril, underarm, fingers and toes. From $17.
  • Lash lift or brow lamination. Both last 6-8 weeks.
  • NormaTec lymphatic compression. Legs, hips or arms, 30 minutes at $47.
  • BEMER session. Resting on a mat generating a pulsed electromagnetic field.
  • Hyperbaric oxygen session. 60 minutes $187, 90 minutes $280.50.
  • Body contouring. One combined hour of lipo cavitation, radio frequency, cupping and red light on one area of focus. From $125.

How to put an afternoon together

  1. Call rather than book online

The scheduler handles one Appointment Type at a time, which makes a three service afternoon awkward to build on your own. Call (317) 979-1234, describe the shape of the day you want, and the front desk will sequence the rooms and the practitioners.

  2. Put the long service in the middle

A 90 minute massage or a 60 minute hyperbaric session anchors the day. Shorter services, waxing, a brow lamination, thirty minutes of compression, slot around it without leaving you sitting in the lobby.

  3. Do not book a facial immediately before waxing the same area

Say what else you have booked when you call, and the order will be arranged sensibly. Some services do not belong next to each other on the same skin on the same day.

  4. Leave time at the retail shelf

The front of the building is an organic health food and supplement store and an Eminence Organics retail point. Whatever the esthetician used on your face is on the shelf. Members of either monthly program get 10% off product purchases.

Getting here, and when to come

From most of the north side of Indianapolis, this is a shorter drive than downtown. Keystone Avenue becomes Keystone Parkway above 96th Street and runs grade separated to 116th Street, which puts Keystone at the Crossing about ten minutes away and Broad Ripple about fifteen to twenty. From Monument Circle or Mass Ave, allow 30 to 35 minutes by way of Meridian Street and Fall Creek Parkway.

Timing matters more for a multi service day than for a single appointment. Weekday mornings from 10:00am and weekday evenings up to a 7:00pm close are the easiest windows to string three services together in. Saturday closes at 5:00pm and is the hardest day to build a long afternoon on. If you are planning for a birthday or an occasion, call a couple of weeks out.

Everything on the menu is a cosmetic or wellness service. This is not a medical clinic and nothing offered is intended to diagnose, treat, prevent or cure any specific disease.

Questions

Common questions

Do you offer a spa day package?

The current published menu is priced by individual service rather than as a bundled day. In practice the front desk builds a day out of separate appointments and sequences them so there is no waiting between. Call (317) 979-1234 and describe what you want.

How far is the spa from downtown Indianapolis?

About fourteen miles and roughly 30 to 35 minutes, going north on Meridian Street and Fall Creek Parkway to Keystone Avenue, which becomes Keystone Parkway. From the north side neighborhoods it is much less: about ten to twelve minutes from Keystone at the Crossing and fifteen to twenty from Broad Ripple.

What is the difference between a day spa and a med spa?

A day spa provides cosmetic and relaxation services you visit for a few hours. A medical spa operates under medical supervision and typically offers injectables and prescription strength procedures. Wellness Origin is a day spa. It carries no injectables. It does operate cosmetic devices such as lasers, radio frequency and a hyperbaric chamber, but these are cosmetic and wellness services, not medical procedures.

How much should I budget for a half day?

It depends entirely on which services you choose. As an example of the arithmetic rather than a package we sell, a 60 minute massage at $98 plus a Facial Custom Blend at $125 plus 30 minutes of NormaTec compression at $47 comes to $270 before gratuity, which is customarily a minimum of 15%. The front desk will total any combination for you on the phone.

Do you have a locker room, robes or a steam room?

What we can confirm is five treatment rooms, a front desk, and an organic health food and Eminence Organics retail area at the front of the building.
