Pressurized Oxygen
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions in Carmel, Indiana
A non-invasive session in a pressurized chamber, 60 or 90 minutes long, booked one at a time or in packages of 3, 10, 20 and 40.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy at Wellness Origin Spa in Carmel, Indiana is a non-invasive session in a pressurized chamber that increases oxygen delivery to tissues. Sessions last 60 or 90 minutes. Wear cotton clothing, avoid cosmetics or jewelry, and skip alcohol or carbonated drinks four hours prior. A single 60 minute session is $187 and a single 90 minute session is $280.50, with packages published for both lengths.
What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy?
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, usually shortened to HBOT, is a session spent inside a sealed chamber where the air pressure is raised above ordinary room pressure. Under that pressure your body takes on more oxygen than it does breathing normally at sea level. That is the whole mechanism. There is no needle, no incision and nothing to swallow.
A session is either 60 or 90 minutes at Wellness Origin, and daily sessions are the usual pattern for people working through a package. You lie down, the chamber is pressurized gradually, you spend the session breathing, and then the pressure is brought back down gradually at the end. Most people read, listen to something or sleep.
Wellness Origin is a day spa. Hyperbaric sessions here are offered as a wellness service. The spa does not diagnose, treat or make medical claims, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy in this setting is not a substitute for care from your own healthcare provider.

What does the chamber feel like from the inside?
The part people ask about most is the pressure change. As the chamber comes up to pressure you feel it in your ears, the same fullness you get on a descending flight. Yawning, swallowing or gently equalizing clears it, and the staff member running your session will talk you through it the first time. Once the chamber holds at pressure, that sensation stops.
It is warm, quiet and enclosed. You can see out, and you can talk to the person operating the chamber for the whole session. Sixty minutes goes faster than people expect. If you are uneasy about enclosed spaces, say so when you book rather than when you arrive, and we will walk you into the room first so you can see the chamber before committing to a session.
How should you prepare for a session?
- Wear cotton clothing. This is the one instruction people forget, and it is not optional.
- Avoid cosmetics and jewelry. Come with a clean face and leave the rings and chains in the car or at the front desk.
- Skip alcohol and carbonated drinks for four hours before your session.
- Eat something light beforehand rather than arriving on an empty stomach or straight after a heavy meal.
- Use the restroom before you go in. A 90 minute session is a 90 minute session.
- Tell us if you have a cold, congestion or any trouble clearing your ears, because equalizing is harder when you are stuffed up.

What do people come to us for?
People book hyperbaric sessions here for general wellness support and for recovery, in the ordinary sense of the word. Athletes and weekend athletes book around hard training blocks. People with demanding schedules book for the hour of enforced stillness as much as anything else. Others simply add it to an existing routine the way they would add a monthly massage.
We are not going to tell you what it will do for you, because we are a spa and not a medical clinic, and because the honest answer varies by person. Wellness Origin does not diagnose, treat or make medical claims, and nothing offered here is intended to diagnose, treat, prevent or cure any disease. If you have a specific health question, the right person to ask is your own healthcare provider, and we would rather you ask them first.
What we can tell you is what the session is: 60 or 90 minutes, comfortable, quiet, repeatable, and easy to build into a weekly or daily rhythm. That is why the packages run as deep as 40 sessions.

Hard shell or soft shell?
Hyperbaric chambers come in two broad families. Soft-sided chambers inflate and operate at lower pressure. Hard-shell chambers are rigid and are built to hold higher pressure. The difference matters to people who have researched this and arrive with a specific question about pressure ratings, and it matters much less to people trying hyperbaric for the first time.
Until that is on the page, we will answer the question directly on the phone. Call (317) 979-1234 and ask what we operate. It is a fair question and it deserves a specific answer rather than marketing language.
How does a series of sessions work?
Start with one session
The first-time promotional price is $93 for a 60 minute session, half off the regular $187, limited to one per client plus one as a gift. Find out how you feel about the chamber before buying anything larger.
Decide on length
The 60 minute and 90 minute sessions are priced separately and both have their own package ladder. Most people start at 60 minutes. Moving to 90 is a decision to make after you have done a few, not before.
Choose a package size
Packages run 3, 10, 20 and 40 sessions at both lengths, and the savings grow with the tier. The 40 session package at 60 minutes saves $1,320.00 against the single session rate.
Book them close together
Daily sessions are the pattern this service is built around, and the deeper packages only make sense if you can keep that cadence. Every session expires one year from the date of purchase, so map the package to your actual calendar.

Questions
Common questions
How long is a hyperbaric oxygen session?
Sessions last 60 or 90 minutes, and daily sessions maximize benefits. Both lengths are priced separately and both have their own package tiers of 3, 10, 20 and 40 sessions. Most people start with the 60 minute session and decide about the longer format after a few visits, since the difference in how the time passes is easier to judge from experience.
How should I prepare for a session?
Wear cotton clothing, avoid cosmetics or jewelry, and skip alcohol or carbonated drinks four hours prior. Eat something light rather than arriving hungry or immediately after a large meal, and use the restroom before you go in. If you are congested or having trouble clearing your ears, tell us, because equalizing during pressurization is harder when you are stuffed up.
What does a session cost?
A single 60 minute session is $187 and a single 90 minute session is $280.50. Packages of 3, 10, 20 and 40 sessions are published for both lengths, with the savings listed on each tier. First-time users of this service can book a 60 minute session at $93, which is 50% off, limited to 1 per client and 1 as a gift to another person.
What kind of chamber do you use, hard shell or soft shell?
We will not publish a chamber claim we cannot document, and we will not publish a comparison against another provider. Call (317) 979-1234 and ask, and you will get the specific answer rather than a marketing line. This is a reasonable thing to ask before you spend money on a package.
How many sessions will I need?
What we can say is that the published packages run 3, 10, 20 and 40 sessions, that daily sessions maximize benefits, and that everything purchased expires one year from the date of purchase. Start with one session and decide from there rather than committing on the first phone call.
Is hyperbaric oxygen therapy at a spa the same as at a hospital?
No. Wellness Origin is a day spa and offers hyperbaric sessions as a wellness service. We do not diagnose conditions, we do not treat conditions, and we do not accept medical referrals. Hospital-based hyperbaric programs are a different setting with a different purpose. If you have a medical question about hyperbaric oxygen, please raise it with your own healthcare provider.
Can I bring someone with me?
You are welcome to bring someone to the appointment, and the chamber is operated by a staff member who stays with you for the session, so you are never alone in the room. If enclosed spaces make you uneasy, tell us when you book. We will show you the chamber and the room before you commit to a session.
