What IPL is, and how it differs from a laser
A laser emits a single wavelength of light. IPL, intense pulsed light, emits a broad spectrum across a range of wavelengths, filtered and delivered in controlled pulses. That difference is why IPL is used across a wider set of cosmetic applications and why the same equipment family appears in more than one place on our menu.
The session itself is straightforward. Skin is cleansed, protective eyewear goes on, a cool gel is applied, and the handpiece delivers pulses across the treatment area in sections. Most people describe each pulse as a quick warm snap. Downtime is minimal and most clients go back to their day immediately afterward.

Our specialist assesses your skin and confirms IPL is an appropriate route. Tell us about any medication you take and about recent sun exposure.
Preparation
Skin is cleansed of makeup and sunscreen, protective eyewear is fitted, and a cool gel is applied to the treatment area.
The pulses
The handpiece is worked across the area in sections, delivering pulses. A brief warm snap with each one, and cooling in between.
Immediately after
Gel is removed and protective product applied. Minimal downtime, so most clients return to their day directly.
Sun protection
Prioritise sun protection afterward: avoid exposure and use broad spectrum sunscreen daily. This is the single most important instruction on the page.
The laser carbon peel, same price, different treatment
Booked in the same room and published at the same rates is our laser carbon peel. It is a two step treatment. A carbon mask is applied and allowed to settle into the pores, absorbing oil, dirt and dead skin cells. The IPL facial laser is then passed over the area, vaporising the carbon and exfoliating the surface with it.
It is virtually painless, with mild warmth the only sensation most people report, and it requires no recovery time. Optimal results are described after 3 to 6 sessions spaced 2 to 3 weeks apart, and it is most often chosen by clients with oilier skin or dullness. Individuals with darker skin tones should consult our team first, and we would rather have that conversation before you book than after.
Pricing for the carbon peel matches the photofacial exactly: $117 single, $321 for three, $632 for six and $1224 for twelve.
Preparation and sun protection
The preparation instruction for IPL is simple and non negotiable: prioritise sun protection by avoiding sun exposure and using broad spectrum sunscreen daily in the run up to your session. Skin that has recently been in the sun responds differently to light based treatments, and our specialist may decline to treat it, which is the correct call rather than an inconvenient one.
The same applies afterward. A series spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart across an Indiana summer needs a genuine sunscreen habit, not an intention to have one. If you are about to spend two weeks somewhere sunny, tell us and we will schedule around it.
