Why waxing rather than shaving
Waxing pulls hair from the root, whereas shaving cuts it flush at the skin surface. That single difference explains most of what people like about it. Hair takes considerably longer to return, and when it does it comes back with its natural tapered tip rather than the blunt cut end that produces stubble. Skin is also less susceptible to the irritation that comes with repeated shaving over the same area.
The trade is that you need enough growth for the wax to grip, which means letting it grow for a period before your appointment rather than shaving in between. Clients who alternate between shaving and waxing tend to have a frustrating time, because they arrive with too little length for the wax to do its job.

Grow it out
Do not shave in the days before your appointment. The wax needs enough length to grip, and turning up freshly shaved usually means rescheduling.
Arrive with clean skin
No heavy makeup, lotions or oil on the area. Our technician will cleanse it before starting.
Tell us what you take
Certain topical products, particularly retinoids, change how skin responds to waxing. Tell your technician before the appointment, not afterward.
The wax
Premium wax is applied and removed in sections. Each strip is quick. Small facial areas take a matter of minutes.
Aftercare
Skin may be pink for a short period. Avoid heat, heavy exercise, sun and harsh products for the rest of the day.
What we do and do not currently offer
The list above is what our menu publishes: facial and small area waxing for men and women. Body waxing for legs, back, chest, bikini and Brazilian is not currently published as a waxing service. Those areas do appear on our menu, but under laser hair removal, which is a different treatment with a different price structure and a different schedule.

If long term hair reduction is what you are actually after, laser hair removal may be the better conversation. It is priced by area from $75 for a small area, $117 for a medium area and $157 for a large area, always as a series, and it is best suited to Fitzpatrick skin types 1 to 4.

Common questions
How long does my hair need to be for waxing?
Long enough for the wax to grip properly, which means resisting the urge to shave in the days before your appointment. If you arrive freshly shaved there may not be enough length to work with and we may need to reschedule you. If you are unsure, call (317) 979-1234 and ask before your appointment.
Does waxing hurt?
There is a brief sting as each strip is removed, and it passes almost immediately. Smaller facial areas are over in seconds. Most people find it far more manageable than they expected, and it typically becomes easier with repeat appointments.
How long do results last?
Weeks rather than days, because the hair is removed from the root rather than cut at the surface. Regrowth also comes back with its natural tapered tip, so there is no stubble phase in the way there is after shaving. Exactly how long varies from person to person.
Do you wax men?
Yes. Our waxing services are offered for men and women across the areas published above: full face at $57, lip and chin at $22, nostril at $17, underarm at $27 and fingers or toes at $22. Call (317) 979-1234 if the area you want is not on that list and we will tell you what can be booked.
Do you offer bikini or Brazilian waxing?
