NormaTec lymphatic compression in Carmel, Indiana

Thirty minutes in the boots. The most requested recovery booking we have, and the easiest one to add to another appointment.

NormaTec lymphatic compression therapy uses dynamic air compression delivered through attachments that wrap the limb, working through a patented Pulse massage pattern. Treatment options are available for legs, hips or arms. Sessions run 30 minutes and are published at $47, with a 3 pack at $134.

What is NormaTec compression?

NormaTec is a dynamic air compression system. Attachments wrap around the limb being treated and are divided into chambers. A pump inflates those chambers in a controlled, patented Pulse massage pattern rather than simply squeezing the whole limb at once, applying gentle, controlled pressure to the area of concern. That controlled pressure may support the body's natural processes, potentially aiding in fluid movement.

The experience is very physical and completely painless. Pressure builds in one section, holds, releases and moves to the next, cycling through the sequence for the length of the session. Most people describe it as being squeezed rhythmically by something firm and patient. Almost everyone finds it pleasant, and a lot of clients fall asleep in the chair.

What happens during a session

  1. Choose your area

Legs, hips or arms. One option per session, so pick the one you actually want rather than hoping to split it.

  2. Get comfortable

You stay clothed. Shorts or leggings work best for legs. You are seated or reclined for the session.

  3. Attachments fitted

The attachment is wrapped around the limb and connected to the pump. Your technician sets the pressure level with you.

  4. Thirty minutes of cycles

Chambers inflate in sequence, hold and release, repeating through the session. Read, scroll or sleep.

  5. Straight out

The attachments come off and you leave. No downtime, no oil, nothing to clean off, nothing to change out of.

What NormaTec pairs well with

People who train hard, particularly runners and cyclists, are the core of it. So are people who spend long days on their feet, people who travel constantly and sit immobile for hours, and people who simply like the sensation and book it as a standing thirty minutes.

It is also the easiest thing on our menu to add to another appointment, because you stay dressed and there is no preparation or recovery involved. Clients commonly pair it with a hyperbaric session, with reflexology at $98, with a massage, or with EMS body contouring. Ask the front desk to schedule them back to back when you book, and note that multiple services on the same day require 48 hours notice to cancel rather than 24.

At $47 for thirty minutes, with a 9 pack at $376, it is one of the more accessible ways to build a genuine routine at the spa rather than an occasional treat.

Questions

Common questions

What is NormaTec compression therapy?

It is dynamic air compression delivered through chambered attachments that wrap the limb, inflating in a patented Pulse massage pattern rather than squeezing all at once. It applies gentle, controlled pressure to the area, which may support the body's natural processes and potentially aid fluid movement. Sessions are 30 minutes at $47.

Which areas can be treated?

Treatment options are available for legs, hips or arms, and one option is chosen per session rather than split across several. Legs are by far the most commonly booked, particularly by runners, cyclists and people who spend all day standing. Wear or bring shorts or leggings if you are booking the legs option.

Does it hurt?

No. The pressure is firm and rhythmic rather than painful, and it is adjustable throughout the session. Tell your technician if it is more than you want and the level will be brought down. Most people find it genuinely relaxing and a fair number fall asleep.

Is there anyone who should not use it?

Yes. NormaTec compression therapy is not recommended for individuals with certain medical conditions, and it is important to consult with a healthcare professional before using it to be sure it is appropriate for you. We are a day spa and cannot make that assessment for you.

Can I add it to another appointment?

Easily, and many clients do. You stay clothed, there is no preparation and no downtime, so it slots either side of a massage, a hyperbaric session, reflexology or EMS. Ask the front desk to schedule them back to back. Multiple services on one day require 48 hours cancellation notice.

Do the packs save money?

The packs are published at $134 for three, $259 for six and $376 for nine, against $47 for a single session. No savings amounts are published for the compression packs, so compare the totals yourself. Services expire one year from the date of purchase.
