Body Contouring
EMS Body Contouring
Half an hour, lying still, while your muscles do the contracting. What EMS is, who books it, and what it costs.
EMS body contouring uses electrical muscle stimulation: gentle electrical currents applied through pads to contract muscles without voluntary effort. It is non invasive and sessions run half an hour. EMS may contribute to muscle toning and improved body contours when combined with a healthy lifestyle. It is published at $125 per session.
What a session looks like
Consultation
Required before your first session. You will be asked about medical conditions and any implanted devices, and this is a safety conversation rather than a formality.
Applicators positioned
Pads or straps are placed over the target muscle group and secured. You stay clothed in comfortable, loose fitting kit.
Intensity brought up gradually
The current is increased slowly from a level you barely notice. You tell your technician when it is enough. Nobody starts at maximum.
Thirty minutes of contractions
The muscle contracts and releases in cycles. It is a strange sensation the first time and almost nobody finds it painful.
Finish
Applicators come off and you carry on with your day. No downtime. Some people feel worked the following day, similar to after training.
What is EMS body sculpting?
Electrical muscle stimulation delivers gentle electrical currents through applicators placed on the skin. Those currents cause the muscle underneath to contract, without you choosing to contract it. Cycle that contraction and release across a thirty minute session and you have EMS body contouring.
The claim we make about it is the one on our menu and no more: EMS treatments may contribute to muscle toning and improved body contours when combined with a healthy lifestyle. That last clause is doing real work and we are not going to hide it. This is a treatment for people who are already training and eating in a way that supports what they want, who are looking to complement that routine. It is not a substitute for it, and any provider selling it as one is not being straight with you.

EMS and the combined body contouring session
These are two different bookings at the same price, which confuses people, so here is the distinction. EMS body contouring is a half hour session using electrical muscle stimulation. The combined body contouring treatment is a one hour session focused on one area that includes lipo cavitation, radio frequency contouring, cupping and red light therapy. Both are published at $125 for a single session with identical package tiers.
EMS is the one to ask about if your interest is muscle rather than skin. Ideal, as we describe it, for individuals seeking to complement their fitness and wellness routines and for those interested in exploring muscle toning options. Plenty of clients book it alongside training, and some pair it with NormaTec compression at $47 for a thirty minute session in the same visit.
Wellness Origin is a day spa, not a medical clinic. We do not diagnose or treat anything. EMS is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have implanted devices such as pacemakers or insulin pumps, or who have a seizure disorder. Please disclose any medical conditions during your consultation.

Questions
Common questions
What is EMS body sculpting?
It is a non invasive treatment using electrical muscle stimulation. Gentle electrical currents applied through pads cause the muscle underneath to contract without voluntary effort, in cycles across a half hour session. EMS may contribute to muscle toning and improved body contours when combined with a healthy lifestyle. Sessions are published at $125.
Does it replace exercise?
No, and we would not sell it that way. Our own description is explicit that EMS may contribute to muscle toning when combined with a healthy lifestyle. It is designed to complement a fitness and wellness routine, and the clients who get the most from it are the ones already training.
Does it hurt?
It should not. The intensity is brought up gradually from a level you barely notice, and you tell your technician when it is enough. The contractions feel unusual the first time, particularly if you have never used a stimulation device before, but very few people describe it as painful.
How is it different from the body contouring session?
EMS is a half hour session using electrical muscle stimulation. The combined body contouring treatment is a one hour session focused on one area, combining lipo cavitation, radio frequency contouring, cupping and red light therapy. Both are $125 for a single session with the same package tiers, so choose on what you actually want rather than on price.
Who should not book EMS?
It is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have implanted devices such as pacemakers or insulin pumps, or who have a seizure disorder. Please disclose any medical conditions during your consultation. This is a safety requirement and our team will ask you directly.
