Facial Custom Blend

Not a fixed protocol with your name on it. The products are selected after your esthetician has actually looked at your skin.

The Facial Custom Blend is our bespoke organic facial. After a thorough skin assessment, your esthetician selects a blend of botanicals, nourishing solutions and masks for your skin type and goals, then works through cleansing, exfoliation and hydration. It is published at $125 for a single session, $328 for three and $628 for six.

What a session looks like

  1. Skin assessment

Your esthetician looks at your skin properly under good light and asks what you use at home, what has irritated you before and what you want out of the session. This is what makes the rest of it custom rather than generic.

  2. Cleanse

A double cleanse to take off makeup, sunscreen and the day, so that everything after this is working on skin rather than on product.

  3. The custom blend

Botanicals, nourishing solutions and a mask, chosen for your skin type, whether that is dry, normal, combination, sensitive or oily.

  4. Exfoliation and extraction as appropriate

Only as much as your skin can take that day. This is a judgment call your esthetician makes on the table, not a fixed step.

  5. Finish and home advice

Hydration, and an honest conversation about what to use at home. We sell Eminence Organics products but nobody at Wellness Origin is on commission to talk you into one.

What custom actually means here

Plenty of spas describe a facial as customized and then run the same six steps on everyone with a different mask at the end. The difference here is the assessment at the start, and the fact that our estheticians work with high quality natural skincare built around herbs and fruit extracts rather than a single fixed product line with a fixed sequence.

What that means in practice is that two people booking the same appointment on the same day get different products, different exfoliation and different time distribution. Somebody with dry, tight skin in February is not getting the same session as somebody with oily skin in August. If you have had facials that felt interchangeable, this is the part that is different.

How often, and what a series does

Our estheticians recommend every 2 to 4 weeks for the Custom Blend. That interval is why the package tiers exist at three and six sessions rather than at ten, and it is worth taking seriously. A single facial is a pleasant afternoon. A series is where you and your esthetician actually learn what your skin responds to, because the second session is informed by what happened after the first.

Skin type is not fixed either. Ours changes with the season, with travel, with sleep and with whatever you have started using at home. The assessment happens at the start of every appointment, not just the first, which is the argument for keeping the same esthetician across a series.

Wellness Origin is a day spa, not a medical clinic. Our facials are cosmetic treatments. We do not diagnose or treat any skin condition, and if you have one, your dermatologist is the person to see. Tell your esthetician about anything you are using or have been prescribed before your session starts.

Questions

Common questions

How often should I get a facial?

For the Facial Custom Blend, our estheticians recommend every 2 to 4 weeks. That is the interval our 3 and 6 session packages are built around. The honest answer for any individual is set at your first assessment, since somebody with sensitive skin and somebody with oily skin will not be given the same schedule.

What makes it an organic facial?

Our estheticians work with high quality, natural skincare products built around herbs and fruit extracts, chosen for your skin type rather than applied from one fixed protocol. We also retail Eminence Organics products for home care. If you have a known sensitivity to a specific botanical ingredient, tell your esthetician at your assessment.

How long does the session take?

Our current menu publishes the price but not the length, which is true of most of our facials. Rather than invent a number, call (317) 979-1234 and the front desk will confirm the appointment length before you book so you can plan the rest of your day.

Will my skin be red afterward?

Downtime is minimal for the Custom Blend, which is one of the reasons it is the most commonly booked facial on our menu. Some people have mild colour for a short period, particularly after exfoliation. If you have an event, book several days ahead rather than the same day and tell your esthetician about it.

Can I add treatments to my facial?

Yes. Fifteen esthetics add ons are available, from dermaplaning and LED mask to high frequency and nano micro needling. None are currently published, so call (317) 979-1234 and we will price your combination before you book.
