Micro needling creates a controlled pattern of tiny punctures in the surface of the skin, which prompts the skin's own collagen and elastin production. It also improves how well products absorb. How micro needling works
A device passes over the skin creating a controlled pattern of very small punctures. The skin responds to that stimulus with its own collagen and elastin production, which is the entire mechanism. Nothing is injected and nothing foreign is left behind. The depth and the pattern are set by your esthetician based on the area and on your skin, which is why the assessment beforehand matters.
A second and often underrated effect is absorption. Skin is very good at keeping things out, and immediately after a micro needling pass it is considerably more receptive to whatever is applied. That is why it is frequently paired with a serum, and why our exosome facial is delivered together with micro needling rather than on its own.

What a session looks like
Assessment and consultation
Your esthetician looks at your skin, asks about anything you are using at home and sets the plan. Tell them about any prescription topical or oral product you are on.
Preparation
Skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepared before anything else happens.
The pass
The device is worked over the treatment area in sections, at a depth chosen for that area. Most people describe it as a strong vibration with a prickling edge rather than as pain.
Serum and finish
Products are applied while the skin is at its most absorbent, followed by whatever soothing and protective steps your esthetician judges appropriate.
The next two days
Redness and possibly mild swelling, comparable to sunburn, settling within 1 to 2 days. Plan around it if you have anything on.
Booking it around your life
The 1 to 2 days of redness is the planning constraint. People generally book toward the end of a working week, or at least not the day before something that matters. It is a cosmetic treatment with a visible short term effect, and pretending otherwise would just leave you annoyed on the drive home.
The 4 to 6 week spacing exists because that is the interval our estheticians work to for recovery between sessions. It also means a six session package is roughly a six to nine month commitment, which is worth understanding before you buy one. All services expire one year from the date of purchase.

Most people describe a strong vibration with a prickling quality rather than pain, and comfort varies with the area and the depth being used. Tell your esthetician during the session if it is more than you want and the settings can be adjusted.
What is microneedling aftercare?
Your esthetician gives you specific instructions at the end of your session, and they take priority over anything on a web page. In general terms: keep the skin clean and simple for a couple of days, be diligent with sun protection, and leave harsh actives and exfoliants alone until the redness has fully settled.
