Microdermabrasion Facial
Mechanical exfoliation without a blade and without acids. The entry point on our resurfacing menu, and the cheapest facial we publish.
Microdermabrasion is a non invasive treatment that delicately removes the layer of dead cells on the skin surface to improve texture and tone, without harsh chemicals. Downtime is minimal and skin feels refreshed immediately afterward. At Wellness Origin it is published at $98 for a single session, $264 for three and $513 for six.
What it is and what it is not
Microdermabrasion is mechanical exfoliation. The surface layer of dead cells is lifted away across the whole treatment area in a controlled, even pass, with no acids and no blade involved. That distinction matters if your skin does not get on with chemical exfoliation, or if you simply prefer a treatment where nothing is left sitting on your face to react.
It is not a resurfacing procedure and it is not micro needling. Nothing penetrates the skin. It is the gentlest of the three exfoliation routes we offer and, at $98, the most accessible price on the facial menu. Most people find it a comfortable session that leaves the skin looking brighter the same afternoon.
What a session looks like
Assessment
Your esthetician looks at your skin and confirms microdermabrasion is the right route that day. If something is currently irritated, we will suggest waiting.
Cleanse
Makeup and sunscreen come off completely first.
The pass
The device is worked systematically across the treatment area. Most people describe it as a firm, slightly gritty vibration.
Finish
Hydration and protection appropriate to freshly exfoliated skin, plus sun protection advice for the days afterward.
Straight back to your day
Minimal downtime. Some people have mild colour for a short period, which settles quickly.

Choosing between the exfoliation options
We publish three routes to exfoliation and clients ask us to compare them constantly. Microdermabrasion at $98 removes dead surface cells mechanically. Dermaplaning at $125 does the same with a sterile surgical scalpel and takes fine vellus hair with it. A custom enzyme peel at $147 uses natural enzymes, fruit extracts and gentle acids to do it chemically rather than physically.
There is no ranking here. Sensitive skin that reacts to acids often does better with mechanical exfoliation. Skin that dislikes physical abrasion often prefers the enzyme route. Somebody who wants makeup to sit flat for an event tends to choose dermaplaning. Your esthetician will tell you which is appropriate at your assessment, and will say if the answer is different from what you booked.
Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic treatment at a day spa. We do not diagnose or treat any skin condition, and we are not a medical clinic. If you are being treated by a dermatologist or using prescription topicals, speak to them first and tell your esthetician at your consultation.

Questions
Common questions
Dermaplaning or microdermabrasion, which should I book?
Both exfoliate, by different means. Dermaplaning uses a sterile surgical scalpel and also removes fine vellus hair, at $125. Microdermabrasion removes dead surface cells mechanically without a blade, at $98. If you want makeup to sit particularly flat, dermaplaning has the edge. Your esthetician will make a call at your assessment.
How many sessions will I need?
Our packages are built at three and six sessions, $264 and $513, which is where most regular clients sit. Our estheticians customise the plan to your skin at your assessment rather than applying a fixed number to everyone, and they will tell you honestly if a different exfoliation route suits you better.
Is there any downtime?
Minimal. Some people have mild colour for a short period afterward and it settles quickly, which is why this is a common booking ahead of an event. Sun protection matters more than usual for the days following any exfoliation, and your esthetician will give you specific guidance before you leave.
Does it use chemicals?
No. Microdermabrasion is purely mechanical exfoliation, which is one reason it suits people whose skin does not get on with acids. If you would rather have chemical exfoliation, our custom enzyme peel uses natural enzymes, fruit extracts and gentle acids instead, at $147.
How long does the appointment take?
Our menu publishes the price but not the length, which is the case for most facials on our list. Call (317) 979-1234 and the front desk will confirm the appointment length when you book, rather than leaving you to guess how much of the afternoon to set aside.
